I write little stories about little people, places, and things — the ones that cross my path and almost slip by unnoticed. A stranger on a bus. A diner that closed twenty years ago but never left me. The neighbor who waves the same wave every morning as she walks her tiny dog.

I spent 40 years as an attorney before any of this, and a year or two before that as an infantry officer in Vietnam — which may explain why I notice small things now. When you’ve seen the big things, the small ones start to matter more.

Nothing here is trying to change the world. It’s just trying to notice it — with warmth, a little humor, and the occasional soft spot for the absurd. Read and follow Michael Hennessy on Substack

Still in a way — nobody sees a flower — really — it is so small — we haven’t time — and to see takes time, like to have a friend takes time.
